SLADE at VUOKATTI 08th April 2006

a short report from Ilpo and Monika

At Vuokatti we had the best time at all.

We slept in the same hotel at SLADE and came soon in contact with Don and Dave.It was short after Dave`s 60th birthday.SLADE arrived also in the morning and so they had some hours time till the beginn of the soundcheck. Don spent many hours with us together and also Dave came for a short meeting at the hotelbar.

We had with Don together a fantastic talk. He told us about the time, when he was together with Ozzy Osborn and when he meet the Beatles. Don is a really symphatic person and it was amazing to listening him !

Don visited us also in our hotelroom and we toke a short movie with him, because we recorded some weeks ago an interview with him for RMN Radio at Germany.

Later we was at the soundcheck and it was really interesting !

Soundcheck

The gig was amazing ( started very late ),

and it was`nt easy to get some good pics of Don !

After the concert we had a short meeting with Don for a drink ( but Don only tea ) and we was in the bed 4.00 hours in the morning :-)
Breakfast with Don, later came also Dave and we gave to him the gifts, booklet, CD, also CD`s from other bands, who like to play as the support band for Slade and all greetings from the fans, who sent them to us.
It was amazing to look at Dave and Don when they were watching the booklet.
Dave remembered very well the gigs and mostly he got the memory back when he was looking at his dresses and hats.
We arranged with Dave and Don a meeting behind the hotel for say

" Good Bye " - not " Good By T`Jane " :-)
