Drummer Don Powell with guitarist Dave Hill was a foundation
member of Slade in 1966. Dave and Don formed also Slade II
in 1992 and Slade (II) is still touring very successfully,
mostly in Europe.

We have got through all our visits to Slade gigs a really good contact
with Don. On this website we will tell about our meetings with
Don and Slade fans at the Slade happenings.

They have been fantastic memories for all of us,
 for the sake of this we want to say

"THANK YOU VERY MUCH DON !"

Don is extremely sympathetic person and for us easily
the best drummer.

The main point for creating this website was the foundation of the

DON POWELL FANCLUB (DPFC) 

on the 15th September in Mönchengladbach, Germany,
in the garden of the Club's President Martin Kitz !

The foundation members (Martin & Monika Kitz, Uwe & Marion Friedrich,
Monika Kahle and Ilpo Bister) gathered in Mönchengladbach in the
President's garden on the Saturday afternoon of 15th September
2007, and after some fine material creating moments the DPFC
caravan headed its way to Slade Open air concert at
Bedburg-Hau. There we met Mr Donald George Powell himself
with the group at backstage and we had a very honorable and
warm-hearted occasion in yielding the first Honorary Member of
DPFC roll to Don.

Members of the forecoming Don Powell Fan Club exactly three months earlier
on stage again after Slade concert at Dexheim in Germany 15.6.2007.
"I've seen the yellow lights gone down am Rhein..." - both concerts
(Bedburg-Hau and Dexheim) were close to the river Rhein.


A week after the foundation and the Bedburg-Hau concert the DPFC got its
first Belgian members by Slade concert at La Hulpe, Belgium,
on 22nd September 2007.

"...and the rhythm that will wear out the heels of
your boots in ten minutes..."
